  • Danielle has practiced speech therapy with both adult and pediatric populations in a variety of settings, including university and outpatient clinics, public schools, private schools, tele-practice and home health care. The majority of Danielle’s experience has been in home health where she has targeted her practice to therapeutic intervention with toddlers, preschoolers, school-aged children and teens. She is experienced in the evaluation, diagnosis and treatment of a variety of communication disorders, such as receptive/expressive language disorders, articulation disorders, autism spectrum disorders, and social skills. Additionally, she assesses and treats feeding disorders/swallowing and oral aversions.

    She also has experience with and participated in continuing education to assist children with sensory concerns who have experienced emotional and or physical trauma.

  • Throughout Danielle’s entire life, she has engaged in the field of speech-language pathology in various ways because her mother is also a veteran Speech Pathologist, Joy Sibley M.S. CCC-SLP. Prior to knowing she’d someday follow in her mother’s footsteps, Danielle, as a teen, would help her mother make materials for clients, watch her draft reports, analyze patient results, attend lectures at state conferences and watch her conduct research with colleagues.  Joy has trained graduate students and gone on to consult nationally for private institutions; Her career has been a constant source of inspiration for Danielle.  Joy is a tremendous resource and although they treat very different populations, it’s Danielle’s dream to eventually bring Joy to work in conjunction with Speak Easy Speech Therapy. Danielle has always loved children and for years, worked as a teacher’s aid at Azlann Montessori in Denton where she assisted in classrooms from pre-k to elementary aged students.  She was a dance instructor at Coppell House of Dance where she taught hip hop, ballet, and jazz to children ages 3 to 14, and that experience with children pushed her even further in her future fashion career after college. 

  • Danielle worked as a stylist in the fashion industry for over 15 years, and the experience that she gained previously working with children, led her to being repeatedly booked by clients such as JC Penny Kids, Lands End Kids, Parents Magazine, Kids Magazine, Scholastic Books, Scholastic Magazine, Martha Stewart Living, Macy’s and Feeding America. Realizing that she wanted to change careers, observing her mother, Danielle decided to pursue a career in Allied health and stepped away from the fashion industry to pursue leveling coursework in Speech Pathology.

    Upon meeting her husband and supporting him in his efforts to complete his medical education and training, in both the US and abroad, Danielle realized the social impact of medicine and the need for strong communication skills within the community for both the purposes of community health and patient education.  During her husband’s pursuit to become a physician, they have relocated 19 times both internationally and within the US.  In each area they’ve lived, Danielle recognized the importance of adjusting to the social pragmatics and cultures of each community, and how vitally important adjustment is to professionally, personally, and socially succeed.  This inspiration paired with inspiration within her family, is what pushed Danielle to change career fields and finally realize her potential to help families.  Danielle has personal and professional interest these Code Switching and social pragmatic aspects of the Speech-Language Pathology field for these reasons and is able to integrate them into sessions for greater patient success. 

    Danielle is a mother of three wonderful boys ages 9, 7, and 6.  She understands viscerally how rewarding it can be to be a parent, and how challenging it can be.  Especially when you discover your child could use extra support.  Danielle’s children have needed Speech and Physical Therapy at times, in addition to scholastic support.  We all need help as parents and as people, and seeking support is something that at Speak Easy Speech Therapy, we hope to normalize as both people and parents.  You will find a compassionate and listening ear in Danielle as a provider.

  • Haley earned her master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from the University of North Texas in 2020. She has experience treating both adults and children across various settings, including outpatient clinics, schools, telehealth, and home care. Specializing in early intervention, Haley is proficient in evaluating and treating pre-linguistic skills, receptive/expressive language disorders, speech sound disorders, autism spectrum disorder, and social communication disorders. Additionally, she treats feeding disorders related to dysphagia, extreme picky eating, and oral aversions. Haley is dedicated to providing high-quality, holistic, neurodiversity-affirming, and trauma-informed services. She takes pride in empowering her clients to find their voice and supporting caregivers in their journey.

  • At the age of four, Haley faced speech challenges similar to those she now helps her clients overcome. Difficulty producing developmentally appropriate speech sounds affected her ability to communicate effectively. Thanks to early speech therapy and surgical intervention for hearing issues, Haley resolved her speech disorder. While her memories of therapy are faint, the warmth and care she received inspired her to pursue a career in communication disorders. Haley's passion for serving others led her to fall in love with speech-language pathology during her undergraduate studies at the University of North Texas.

  • Born in Bury St. Edmunds, England, Haley grew up in both Texas and Alaska. Outside of work, she enjoys reading, spending time with family, and bouldering. Fun fact: Haley’s first clinical supervisor was Joy Sibley, Danielle's mom.

  • Lizbeth has been a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) for almost two years. She obtained her undergraduate degree in Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology from the University of North Texas and is currently completing her master’s in Speech-Language Pathology at UNT.

  • From a young age, Liz was inspired to pursue a career in Speech-Language Pathology by witnessing the challenges her grandmother faced with dementia. Observing the profound impact that communication difficulties had on her grandmother’s quality of life fueled her passion for the field. Liz loves working with children. She finds joy in helping them develop essential communication skills. She also hopes to expand her expertise by working with adults one day, continuing her journey to make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals across all ages.

  • Originally from Monterrey, Nuevo León, Mexico, known as the "City of Mountains," Lizbeth frequently visits her hometown to spend time with family and friends. She has a passion for travel, enjoys exploring new countries, and loves spending her free time discovering coffee shops and learning about photography.

  • With a Bachelor’s degree in Linguistics, emphasizing TESOL, and a TESOL certification from the University of Texas at Arlington, Eileen brings extensive experience in teaching English to diverse populations, including children and adults. She has volunteered as an instructor at the Arlington library and has tutored Vietnamese students privately. Recently, she earned a Bachelor’s degree in Communication Disorders from the University of Eastern New Mexico and is also an ABO-NCLE certified optician. Her passion lies in understanding individuals' needs and solving problems, which she applies in her professional and personal life.

  • Eileen was inspired to enter healthcare to provide direct patient care to Vietnamese patients with limited English proficiency. Although she initially pursued a path in pharmacy, a linguistics class sparked her love for language, leading her to the field of speech pathology. Her own experience with the difficulty of pronouncing her Vietnamese name foreshadowed her future career, as she dedicated herself to teaching others how to pronounce it and found fulfillment in helping others with similar challenges.

  • A language enthusiast, Eileen enjoys learning new languages, with Latin being her favorite. Though she is a heritage speaker of Vietnamese and has worked diligently to enhance her bilingual skills, she aspires to become officially certified as bilingual. Outside of her professional life, she enjoys writing and editing and is the go-to person in her friend group for written work. Eileen is also a devoted cat lover with three cats who are the center of her world.

  • Delaney graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Communication Sciences and Disorders with a minor in Deaf and Hard of Hearing from Stephen F. Austin State University. Throughout her academic career, Delaney has gained valuable experience working directly with the Deaf and Hard of Hearing community through her roles as an American Sign Language interpreter and as an American Sign Language tutor at SFASU. Her hands-on experience in these positions has provided her with deep insights into deaf culture and strengthened her communication abilities in both signed and spoken languages.

    Looking ahead, Delaney plans to further her education by pursuing a Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology in the coming year.

  • Her passion for becoming a Speech-Language Pathologist was ignited by a significant observation during her work as an American Sign Language interpreter. She noticed a concerning gap in the field that SLPs had limited knowledge and use of American Sign Language as a tool for language development. This observation highlighted an opportunity to bridge an important communication gap in the field of speech and language therapy.

    Delaney’s commitment to pursuing speech-language pathology was further solidified by a deeply personal experience when her close friend sustained a traumatic brain injury (TBI). Witnessing her friend's journey through recovery and rehabilitation provided intimate insight into the crucial role that Speech-Language Pathologists play in helping individuals regain their communication abilities after brain injury. This personal connection to the field, combined with her expertise in American Sign Language, fueled her determination to become a Speech-Language Pathologist who could offer comprehensive communication support utilizing both spoken and signed languages.

    Through these experiences, Delaney recognized the unique perspective she could bring to the field by combining her understanding of deaf culture and American Sign Language with traditional speech and language therapy approaches. Her goal is to help create more inclusive and effective therapeutic practices that can better serve all individuals with communication needs.

  • Delaney is an enthusiastic traveler; she delights in exploring new destinations around the world. When at home, she unwinds with romance novels and treasures quality time spent with her boyfriend and their playful black Lab, Phoebe.

Sofia

  • Sofia graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology from The University of North Texas. She is currently pursuing her master’s in Speech-Language Pathology at UNT. Sofia has previous experience working with children through being a registered behavior technician (RBT) and working in preschools. Through her time at UNT, she has obtained experience in working with individuals who use Augmentative and Alternative Communication devices (AAC).

  • When Sofia was in second grade, she was diagnosed with dyslexia. From a young age, she learned to hide her symptoms to avoid standing out among her peers. It wasn't until she grew older and understood what dyslexia meant for her learning that she began to advocate for herself and seek help when needed.

    Her experience with dyslexia sparked an interest in careers focused on helping children with disabilities and learning differences. Having felt lost and unseen in her learning journey, Sofia is deeply passionate about supporting individuals and their families who may feel the same. In her view, no child should feel incapable or undeserving of achieving their goals because of a diagnosis.

    Sofia aims to help children and their families learn, grow, and reach their personal goals while bringing comfort, understanding, and joy to their lives. She has always been passionate about helping others, especially children. This passion and drive led her to choose a career in speech-language pathology.

  • Sofia had the opportunity to study abroad in Belize, where she was part of a small group of UNT SLP students who organized and ran a week-long summer camp for children with various speech disorders and delays. Outside of work and school, she enjoys reading, spending time with friends and family, and discovering fun and healthy new recipes. She loves traveling and dreams of visiting all three Great Barrier Reefs one day.

  • Claire earned a Bachelor of Science in Communication Sciences and Disorders from Oklahoma State University. Following graduation, she worked in Chicago for a year as a behavioral therapist with the ASD population where she gained experience working with AAC devices. She is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology at Texas Woman’s University.

  • Claire’s inspiration for joining this field stems from when her grandfather was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease and watching her family navigate through the hardships. She wanted to be able to work in a field where she could provide intervention and guidance for others while making a difference in their quality of life. Learning about the roles SLPs have really stood out to her and inspired her to change her major, which she has never regretted since! 

  • Outside of Speech Language pathology, Claire enjoys embroidery and other needlepoint work, has a minor in American History, and owns two cats, Padme and Percy.

  • Kira, our dedicated Practice Manager, brings a wealth of experience in small business management and interior design to her role at Speak Easy Speech Therapy. A Denton native and alumnus of the University of North Texas, Kira has spent her career nurturing and growing small businesses in her community. With a background in bookkeeping and managerial roles, Kira's skills are adaptable, and she eagerly tackles any task or challenge that comes her way. In 2020, she expanded her expertise by delving into interior and exterior design work with 3D renderings, demonstrating her commitment to staying updated with evolving technologies and setting up efficient systems.

  • Kira's dedication to her work extends beyond her professional responsibilities, as she understands firsthand the transformative impact of therapy on individuals and families. With her son recently graduating from Occupational Therapy for sensory processing, Kira recognizes the importance of early intervention and proactive treatment. Her personal experiences fuel her passion for ensuring that every patient receives the support and care they need to thrive.

  • Outside of work, Kira enjoys a bustling home life with her two boys, aged 7 and 9, along with their two dogs and a cat. While she relishes the opportunity to travel and explore new destinations, Kira finds joy in organizing and remodeling her living space, much to her husband's amusement. When not embarking on adventures or home improvement projects, Kira prioritizes outdoor activities such as scuba diving and hiking, savoring the moments of tranquility and connection with nature. Her dynamic blend of creativity, adaptability, and passion for making a difference enriches our team and enhances the patient experience at Speak Easy Speech Therapy.

  • Michelle is currently studying Ecology for Environmental Science at the University of North Texas, where she is dedicated to finding solutions to environmental challenges and improving lives. Her academic journey reflects her passion for enhancing experiences and outcomes, which she brings to her role at Speak Easy Speech Therapy. Michelle is committed to leveraging her skills and knowledge to contribute to the team’s mission and make a positive impact in the field of speech therapy.

  • Michelle’s connection to Speak Easy Speech Therapy began when her son was referred to Danielle for a speech evaluation. The impressive progress her son made after just a few sessions inspired Michelle to become part of the team. She was drawn to Speak Easy’s values and meaningful impact, and she is excited to contribute to an organization that aligns with her passion for improving lives through speech therapy.

  • Outside of her professional and academic pursuits, Michelle is an enthusiastic learner with a love for classic rock music. She enjoys spending time with her 2-year-old son and 9-year-old Rottweiler, and she is passionate about traveling, nature, and medical topics. Michelle also has a long-standing fascination with natural disasters. Her childhood dream of becoming a research meteorologist, inspired by Jim Cantore, continues to influence her interests.

  • Jack, our summer intern, is pursuing his undergraduate studies in speech, language, and hearing sciences at the University of Texas at Austin. Hailing from Denton, Texas, and a graduate of Argyle High School, Jack brings a wealth of experience working with young children as a private swim instructor, a venture he initiated to help kids meet their swimming and safety goals. His commitment to ensuring the safety and well-being of his students underscores his dedication to individualized care and personal development. This summer, Jack is enthusiastic about delving into the intricacies of managing a small business in home health and gaining hands-on experience by shadowing therapy sessions at Speak Easy Speech Therapy.

  • Throughout his life, Jack has held a deep admiration for the medical field, influenced by his mother's work as an ER doctor. He recognizes the profound impact of communication and self-confidence, particularly in the realm of Speech Pathology, where he sees an opportunity to advocate for and empower patients. Jack's interest in the diverse applications and settings within Speech Pathology, particularly in the challenges and rewards of home health, makes this internship a valuable educational and career experience for him.

  • Jack's vibrant spirit finds expression in his passion for color guard, a love cultivated during his high school years, where he relished the activity’s camaraderie, competition, and teamwork. As a former captain of his school's team and a participant in the Crossmen Drum and Bugle Corp, Jack thrives in competitive environments and values the camaraderie of teamwork. Besides working with Speak Easy Speech Therapy this summer, Jack is teaching private swim lessons, ensuring kids' safety in a fun and approachable manner. In his leisure time, Jack indulges in art, especially creating colorful colored pencil portraits, and cherishes moments with his family, traveling, and playing with his two cats.
